Pumpkin

I'm so behind on posts! I didn't realize it had been two months since I posted anything and hadn't posted any of Bailey's pictures.

Still Waiting....

Tick tock, tick tock....we are still waiting for something to happen. So far, NOTHING! My due date is still 5 days away so there is still time but I'm hoping and praying that we don't go beyond the 31st! Momma can't take much more of this!

Some good news though is that we have a baby bed! It's not the bed that we ordered but Pottery Barn came through for us and gave us a bed to use until the one we ordered comes in...who knows when that will be. So for now, we'll take this one and wait for the one we really want. Her room is now all set and ready for her to arrive...it's now a waiting game!

A Room Fit for a Queen

With the exception of the bed and a few things on the walls...the room is complete! We are hoping to have the bed before she arrives, but it's not looking like that will happen.

Thanks to daddy for all of his help with painting everything, putting up the wainscoting, hanging the curtains and a new fan. It looks soooo cute!

Now we are patiently awaiting Bailey's arrival....only 27 more days!

Home Stretch

Our trip to Florida was awesome. We had a bumpy beginning and end to the trip but everything in the middle was great. We had fun going to the beach, hanging out at the pool, eating a lot, riding bikes, playing with Buggie Boo and just being with family. We're already looking forward to next year with the little one.

We are about 5 weeks until the arrival of Bailey and I am READY! I would be happy with just 3 more weeks but of course, what choice do I have...she is the one calling the shots! In the mean time, there is still a lot to finish up in her room, in the house, and with my job and I'm on a mission to get it all done.

She is a little busy bee in my belly constantly kicking and punching. When she gets going, you can definitely see and feel the rolling motions on the outside of my stomach. It's pretty neat! She even has the hiccups quite often!

Daren and I had maternity pictures taken to commerate this specail time and I'm very excited about them. The photographer took several belly pictures and several of the two of us. Gifts Galore Round 2

I'm so behind on updating the blog since the last shower. A couple of weeks ago, all of my best friends gave us an awesome shower that was so perfect! We got a lot more goodies for Miss Bailey. She has more stuff than anyone could ever need and she is not even here yet!

I have finally gotten all of the gifts, clothes, and other necessities organized and assigned them a new home off of the floor of the nursery. The dresser and closests are rather full! A few more things have come in for the room - curtains, glider and the light. I'll have pictures soon when it's all in place. It's looking pretty cute...I must say!

We are off to Florida this week for the last vacation as a family of two! We are really looking forward to relaxing and lounging in the sun for a week.

Gifts Galore!

Bailey and I had the first of two baby showers this past weekend and we got a lot of stuff! I had a great time visiting with friends and family and of course opening up all of the gifts! Everything is in piles on the nursery floor - blankets, burb cloths, clothes, socks, bath stuff, etc and I'm still trying to digest it all and figure out where to put it. Hopefully the dresser will be here soon and then I can start organizing all of it.

Round two is this weekend....can't wait!

Room Update

The room is coming along. All of the painting is done, wainscoting is up and now we are just waiting for everything else to arrive. Hopefully some of the furniture will be here next week. Here is a look at what it looks like so far!

Phase II

My oh my how things can change in just a couple of days. Phase II of the nursery makeover is in full swing. After finally getting everything out of the room, boxed up and put away, we were ready to get to work...well, Daren was...I supervise!

I leave for work on Tuesday and come home to a room with new wainscoting and baseboards up and painted...all courtesy of handyman Daren! I thought that the painting would get done today. Well...

I posted all of this last night and had to edit it this morning. I went to bed with the top part of the walls with the old office color and woke up this morning to all of the walls painted! I thought Daren was only doing the cutting in last night...I should have known! It looks soooo good! He just has the ceiling left to paint, which I'm sure he'll get done today. I'll post pictures next time of the room completely painted.

I can't wait to start filling the room now! Some of the furniture should arrive in a couple of weeks and the rest of the bedding will arrive today! But, we won't have a bed to put it on until August...bummer.

We visit the doctor this afternoon for the monthly visit. I'll have the dreaded glucose test..yuck!

26 Weeks and Counting

I'm 26 weeks this week and things are getting pretty real! It's obvious by appearance and by the constant movement that a little one is in my belly. Before we know it, she will be here!

At last, the room that will become the nursery has been cleared out! Next week we will begin the fun stuff and start painting! I'll post updated pictures as we make progress.

We enjoyed our trip to Tallinn. It was a small city but very charming and old. It's not a place that I would ever think of going to or have a desire to go to, but I'm glad I got to see it. I'm happy to be grounded for several months from International travel...being pregnant and sitting and sleeping up right in an airplane seat for 16 hours was not very fun!!

What's New

We have lots going on over here at the Bartula house. We are slowly but surely making progress on the baby's room. We are still boxing up and moving things out of the office and we'll hopefully have it cleared out by the end of this weekend. Then the real fun begins!! Daren has a lot of work ahead of him! Lots of things have been ordered for the room but nothing has come in yet and I'm hoping to have a baby bed before the baby arrives...not too sure on that yet.

We are 23 weeks along in the pregnancy now and I can't believe I'm in the 6th month already. Time is flying by. It will be August before we know it! There is lots of movement in my belly. She is kicking and punching up a storm! I often wonder what she is doing in there and wish I could see what is going on. She weighs a little over a pound now and measures about 12 inches long. We go back to the doctor tomorrow for the routine monthly visit.

This past weekend was Girl's Weekend with several of my High School friends in Fredericksburg. We had a great time shopping, visiting a winery, eating and chatting! It was nice to get away and re-connect with all of them since everyone is so busy all of the time and going in a million different directions. Looking forward to next year already...destination unknown!

I'll be heading out next week on my last work trip before the baby arrives...making my way to Tallinn, Estonia. I've never been there before and I'm looking forward to seeing what it is all about. Bailey will be quite the world travel before she is even born!

Daren is enjoying his new job and being back with some of his old co-workers from Dynegy. He especially likes when he has the week off. I do too, because I usually have a lot of things I want him to do around the house!
